I've been researching essential oils and extracts to help my edges grow back healthy and full. I found the best essential oils that help induce growth and stimulate the scalp. Essential oils have numerous healing properties and are 100% all natural!

1. Basil (Ocimum Basilicum)
A powerful scalp stimulator and you can actually feel it working when applied to the scalp. It also gives your hair a slight conditioning feel. This tingly essential oil can also add a bit of shine and thickness to your hair.

2. Carrot Seed (Daucus Carota)
Carrot oil is enriched with various nutrients such as Vitamins A and Vitamin E that are effective for hair. It up holds healthy growth of hair and eliminates split ends which favors the growth of hair. Using carrot oil daily will help to firm up and guard your hair which results in shiny hair. Along with soothing your skin, carrot oil also dampens your hair.

3. Cypress (Cupressus Sempervirens)
Imagine yourself in a quiet forest surrounded by tall Cypress trees. The aroma of cypress oil can transport you to that soothing place. Cypress is used to reduce oiliness in the scalp and is good for dandruff. It is important to use only the smallest amount (1 drop) in your formula or it could have the opposite effect. Some people like to blend it with orange and lavender in a base of jojoba.

8. Tea Tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia)
Tea tree oil has become very popular. It is anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. It is effective against any type of fungal condition of scalp such as ringworm. Note: You should never use essential oils without using a carrier oil such as jojoba, or coconut oil to dilute the essential oil. Some oils can be toxic when used in their purest form. Consult your physician when in dooubt.
